Highly experienced metal expert joins our team

Our reputation proceeds us, and one of the reasons for this is because of the calibre of our staff.

We only recruit the best people within the aluminium recycling industry and that includes our most recent appointment, Paul Mason, who has been working within our sector for more than three decades.

Paul joined us at the start of last month (February) as our Business Development Manager, a position that had been held by Shaun Ford for more than 30 years.

Equally talented

Sadly, Shaun passed away at the end of last year, and we knew we had to find somebody equally as talented to replace him and continue all of the excellent work he’d carried out for us for such a long period of time. 

To find somebody as experienced as Shaun, with the ability to develop and build upon all of the relationships he’d established and managed for us over the last 30 years wasn’t easy. But given our reputation for leading the aluminium recycling field, we were able to attract some of the best talent around, which included Paul.

Extensive experience

Paul has joined us from Higgins Balers, where he worked for over three years. Prior to that, he worked for HA Mason (Metals) Ltd, Metal & Waste Recycling and Sims UK. His previous roles include Contract Manager, Non Ferrous Operations Manager and Sales Manager.

“To have a ‘man on the ground’ and first point of contact for merchants is vitally important, and I’m extremely pleased to be that person,” explains Paul.

“It’s great to be part of the Alutrade team. Having dealt with them as a customer in the past, I know how highly the company is regarded within the trade. Hopefully, the coming months and years will see many of our new suppliers feeling the same way and reinforcing Alutrade’s industry-leading status.”
